The service is usual great and the food very good. If you have a large party, they will accommodate you. I recommend calling ahead for a large group. Our table could have really used two servers.

This place use to be good .Margaritas were awful. Food was ok ..Serve was great There was nothing old fashion about the tacos

Always an excellent experience and service here. Nancy is the best we love her . The food is always delicious .My favorites are the old fashioned tacos their nachos and their enchiladas . We will keep coming back no question.

This is a family favorite restaurant of mine. I've been coming since I was a kid & now I bring my own kids. I like the traditional tacos but they could add a little more meat to fill the entire taco. I also love the brownie with ice cream, it's delicious! The staff is pretty friendly too.. I love the laid back atmosphere.

First trip was awesome. Manager did try to fix food issue on second trip. In general pretty decent food.

We went to lunch early, 11:30-ish. It was nice and quiet, they had some new menu items so our server, Nancy, recommended one. It was delicious, packed with flavor and brought 1/2 home!! Fair priced too!

It was very nice and i just love the lady that cleans up the food off the table! I know this is super off topic but she would talk to us she was nice and I think she deserves more money than she gets because she is very good at cleaning and very nice to the customers so this is to the owner, tell that woman I was the child with my father and mexican grandmother! I think this place deserves 5 stars! Also i got cheese quesadillas.

Been eating at El Chico's since 1960. Delish puffy crispy tacos, soft cheese tacos and complementary relish. Maybe not the best, but consistently tasty with clean State Board certified kitchens for years. Cleanliness highly rated and not just by me.

We have been dining here for 28 years! The food is consistently delicious and the hospitality is wonderfully warm. The staff have become extended family to us and we are grateful for them. 💖 We find ourselves heading to El Chico on hard days, in happy times and "just because." 💗 Thank you for graciously welcoming us to your establishment. ❤

Waited at the door for 10 minutes along with 10 other people just to be seated with empty tables in view. 10 minutes to get cold tasteless hot sauce and stale chips and terrible sweet tea. Waitress took my order finally then didn't see her again for half an hour. Watched people that came in 10 minutes or more behind me get their food. 30 minutes later my waitress comes back and had the nerve to ask me if I'm ok lol. She sees i have no food. No apologies no nothing just let me check on your order. 10 minutes later i got up and walked out. I'll never go back....sad it used to be my favorite lunch spot.

Best fajita beef in town!

Okay, honestly... the food is decent. It's just that, the rice tasted so off-putting. I could not for the life of me figured out what the bad taste was but could only compare it to a wet grass smell or dirt or you taste some really weird sink water. It just tasted horrible. Other than that, their sopa pías are bomb.

The service is the best food can not be better.

$2.00 tacos on Mondays. NANCY is the best server ever. If you have been there more than once or twice, she remembers what you ordered and gives prompt and friendly service. The "old fashioned tacos" are my favorite.

This restaurant has become a staple to me and my family. We enjoy eating here when we are in a time crunch, after work, or special occasions. The waiting staff work hard to make everyone feel appreciated and happy. Management plays a very active role in their patrons experience. The drinks are stout and the meals are reasonably priced. Don't be shy it's like dining with family.

Delicious! Highly recommend! Mama’s Favorite Enchiladas were terrific! I got mine with flour tortillas instead of corn.

The place is well taken care of. The food was well cooked, and hot getting to the table. Our waiter was very polite and made sure we had everything we needed!

Great food , great staff. I've been a customer for 20 yrs. and both of my children worked here when they were in school and both still eat here regularly.

One of the few dine in options left under the current circumstances. Food is flavorful and fresh. Got the Monterrey chicken for lunch (staying keto) and their sauteed vegetables were some of the best I've ever had. Manager is a great guy and Nancy @ El Chico's is a sensation as a server. Highly recommend this place if you're at the Brazos Mall or nearby.

The food was excellent . It sits on the outside of the mall but you don’t get the mall feeling in the restaurant.
